That's horrible. Somehow all the presents around her makes it seem a lot worse to me. I'm just wondering though how a body could be there for three years with no one complaining of the smell or missing her in any way. With the heating on it would just speed up the decomposition. And it's damn hard to go missing for long these days, especially so in your own apartment. Someone must have been a good liar. The fact she was surrounded by presents would lead one to believe she had enough people around her to give them to/receive them from. So how come no one came around? How come no one could smell it through the door? The stench of death permiates and there's no way to hide it no matter how much lysol you use. Hm. Perhaps the heat baked her so much that it mummified the remains enough, which turns the stench into a sweet aroma. Who knows?

Strange, and rather sad case indeed.
Thanks for the link.
