Big vote in Canadia today. The Conservatives, unfortunately, look like they may win. But I guess if you give them enough rope they'll hang themselves with it. It is quite unfortunate. These guys are complete douchebags. It was Mike Harris who got people killed here in Ontario (Walkerton) due to insufficient funding to monitor the e. coli levels in the water, and it was Mike Harris also responsible for funding cuts that closed hospitals down. I remember one case well where a 16 yr old kid was sent to the hospital dying, but they had told them there were not enough beds and to go across town to the other hospital. He died before he got there. Mike Harris is also responsible for removing rent caps in Ontario, which causes people like myself to be unable to afford a place of my own. With an average rent of $1,000, there is no way that I would be able to afford it with a $1,000 check per month, and with no one to move in with to split costs (and being too paranoid to share with someone I do not know), I am doomed and trapped here. Ah yes, we can expect more shit like this soon as they cut taxes for the selfish, rich few who don't want to pay an extra 15 cents on their dollar to help the needy like myself, like single mothers, like those shot in the fucking throat and needing medical help. But these douchebags don't realize that cutting taxes doesn't give you any money; you merely just pay out of pocket for more services. Like the United States. Sure, they have less tax but let's see how they deal with the running costs of keeping cancer patients alive. Let's see how much giving birth costs. Don't any of these retards get it? Lower tax doesn't mean you don't pay for it. You do. The money has to come from somewhere. It's only that the ones less fortunate will get no help at all. Ah well. We shall see how things play out on this dark day.
