Dire

There seems to be a rather large problem occuring with my government these days. Oh, the corruption doesn't cease. The Liberals are fucked for sure now. But it's no surprise that a government would launder money and commit acts of fraud on the taxpayer's expense. I mean, everyone who is under the control of the government is serving a corrupt agency after all. But shit, we're absolutely fucked if the Convervatives wind up getting the next election because of this corruption shit. Looks like the Liberals will never recover from this blow to its reputation, and we thought it was bad enough when we watched with wide eyes as George W. Bush lied to his people about the link to Saddam from Osama, and the lies about weapons of mass destruction, and the constant failed attempts at coverups, and silencing the media about what's really going on with Iraq, and the secret contract bids, and and and...but now we appear to be no better. Conspiracy theorists might even surmise that it was America itself that somehow managed to bludgeon the Canadian Liberals by somehow incriminating them so we'd be more like them (ie, getting the "commie bastards" booted because of false accusations). Who knows? It's up to you to decide.

I would hate for my great country of Canadia (on purpose) to become like our neighbours to the south. Hell, Mike Harris, the ex Conservative Prime Minister of my province of Ontario, did enough damage. He cut funding so badly to "reduce" taxes that an obnoxious amount of hospitals were closed down (many died), he cut funding to those who make sure the water supply is safe to drink (yet more people died), removed rent caps (too expensive now) and so on and so forth. After all his tax-cutting, and all the death he's caused, he only managed to raise the amount people had to pay in tax. No surprise there. There really is no way to cut taxes. You always have to pay more in one form or another, and it baffles me why people never realize this.

I guess we will have to see how this plays out. Hopefully it will be for the best. But I think that if either side gets in next time, it'll only be the lesser of two evils. If what they say the Liberals did is true, then it would be damning to us all if they stay in power, lest they fuck us all up the ass all over again. On the other hand, if the Conservatives get in...there may be so many tax cuts that it's the middle and lower middle class that get stepped on...much like those who happen to live in the United States of China.
